Meghan has visited elementary schools across the country. Her talk works for grades K-5. The talk is divided into three parts.
Meghan shows her childhood drawings and describes how through lots of practice creating art and using her imagination as a kid, she got to where she is today.
Kids will see the book writing and illustrating process from the rough draft to creating paintings for a book. They'll also see how a book is printed.
Meghan illustrates why research is extremely important when making a book. Kids will see some examples of research used and even an example of a mistake made in a sketch.
At the very end of the presentation Meghan will show kids how she draws a picture and will call on a few kids to participate.

A school visit consists of three talks per day and each talk is approximately 45 minutes each, with time for questions at the end. If books are ordered, Meghan will gladly sign them. If there are other requests, such as eating lunch with a group of students, then just ask!

For schools more than 1 hour away, a hotel room may be needed depending on start-time. If a school visit is in the RI area then there will be no charge for a hotel. Tolls and gas are included in all prices.

For schools more than 3 hours away, airfare may be needed depending on start-time and travel distance.
